I bought the most expensive package because of the CD and rights to the pictures. When I wanted to email my sister my kid's new pictures, I couldn't. They were blurry. I could email from their website but then they required my sister to pay for the prints (wtf)? I paid good money for my sister to pay some more!?!! The CD does not contain the rights but backup pictures. The information given is misleading, so disappointed. Never again Portraits Innovations, misleading is the same as lying.

Had a coupon for $20 portrait package, and after the pics were taken the first package they showed us was $550. Then we had to "whittle down" the package to decrease the cost. We asked that all the "extras" be removed (vignettes, photo books, etc) and were told "not possible." Appointment was for a family photo, yet photographer took multiple other pics. We requested not to take pics of kids only, photographer said "this is required." So our request to not take pictures of our kids was refused. Pricing isn't posted anywhere, all sales pitches. Final cost was $180 for 17 portrait sheets, and we left feeling confused as to what pictures were purchased and whether we got what we wanted.

I visited Portrait Innovations in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Saturday evening. My appointment time was made for 6:00PM.

I arrived at 5:45. My daughter and I didn't start our shoot until 7:25. I had a coupon for the family portrait special for $19.99. That's all I came to buy and that's all I wanted.

I made that clear to Nicole (I think that's her name), but she did not care. She told me "why did you come in here with that mindset like that's all you gone buy". I said once again to her, "that's all I need and that's all I will buy". Anyways.

she took over 50 pictures of us, and as we started to narrow down the favorites, I told her I had somewhere to be at 8:00. She did not care. She continued to try to sell me $400 worth of pictures, I kept telling her no. She refused to listen to me.

I guess her commission or whatever was more important than making a customer happy with what they wanted. I feel she tried to manipulate me and make me purchase something I said I did not want. She don't know what my income is or if I'm experiencing financial hardship to try and make me purchase something I did not want or need. She didn't care about what I was saying at all.

Little did she know, she was trying the wrong person. I became very irritated with her behavior, I asked her to not show me any more pictures, and print the one I picked out, she refused! I did not receive great customer service! I politely got up and walked out!

She was HORRIBLE!

You should not have people like this working in your studios!!!!!!!!! I will NOT be going to another Portrait Innovations EVER AGAIN!

just so you know she is required by the company to go over all of the packages they have to offer...its protocol for them....if you dont have the time to sit and listen then you need to take pictures at a different time.....they cannot always control how long the session is going to take because of who is in your sessions and the sessions before. Especially since this is their busy season, well ending of it, nothing is in their control. But they are required to do exactly what she did so at least her bosses will be happy

Been waiting over a month to recieve an order that was intended to be a christmas present. Its almost february and still nothing. They lost the order one time and it just been excuses as to whyvwe havent gotten it yet. And they have already taken money. Woukd not recomend.

Inconsiderate and unprofessional

On Wednesday, November 26, 2014 I scheduled an appointment for my 2 children to have their Christmas pictures made. The appointment was at 1:40 pm on Saturday November 29th. I received a confirmation text AND email AS WELL AS another text and email to REMIND ME as well as a PHONE CALL to remind ME of this appointment. I started getting my children (ages 1 and 3) ready at 10 am...it's an all day affair to get everyone ready for these things. It also takes me an HOUR to get to the nearest studio. I arrived for my APPOINTMENT 15 minutes early and walked into an OVER crowded studio only to be told that WE, me and my 2 very small children would have to wait an hour and a half AFTER our APPOINTMENT TIME for our session. We left immediately and will not return. I wasted an entire day preparing and driving to and from Hendersonville (not to mention the pissed off 1 year old I was in a car with for 3 hours round trip). The LEAST that SHOULD have been done was to call, text or email me letting me know there was such a delay. They had NO problem reminding me through all resources of my appointment so they should have done something to prevent this from happening. These photo studios that think they can shove us all in there in 10 minutes like cattle are seriously mistaken. I've had this problem with JC Penney before also. You can't expect small children or families to be in an out in 10 minutes flat much less get decent pictures in the process that we, the consumer pay out the butt for. I am extremely disappointed because I had enjoyed using Portrait innovations in the past because the pictures are printed same day but this took the cake. I passed other irritated families on the sidewalk as i was going into the building and I hope they did not give their business to Portrait Innovations. What a wasted day!

Preferred solution: don't schedule appointments 10 minutes apart and if a problem arises and you know you are running behind (I am realistic, I know things happen) BUT let your customers know! I wasted a whole day preparing and driving to the studio for NOTHING!

"I've had this problem with JCPenney before also." congrats, have you figured out yet that's how every photo studio is before the holidays? Thousands of other people got their kids dressed up just like you did. Please find me a studio that isn't backed up like that this time of year.

No Free Mug!!!

Don't ever go here if you plan on getting a free gift offer!!! I had a photo session on Nov 28th 2014 with 8 kids, a pic for their grandmother for Christmas, and still don't have the free mug - it was promised in 10 days. Today is Jan 19, 2015. I've called 4 times since then and they all said that they would re-order the mug...obviously they're expecting me to forget about it because I still DON'T have it. The worst customer service ever!!!! I have no idea what the heck they are doing and why I still don't' have my mug!!!

I am really disappointed in there policy's and pricing of extra pictures. I went when they were new to Kansas City and loved loved loved the place. I returned twice this year (2014) with there advertised special I was so disappointed I read the reviews how the company expects there employees to fulfill sales and yes it is true even thought they are very nice about it you can really fell the pressure and attitude. Portrait Innovations has really over priced there extra pictures and cd if they would lower prices I think they would have better sales without the pressure. Also you can order prints later online because they delete the photos take as part of the pressure which just pissed me off! I like to go home and think about it and order later as needed but know they delete them which in my opinion shots them self's in the foot. I will return to other studios shuts as Penny.

Previous companies before portrait innovations did archive the session about 90% of customers never return so this keeping your images stuff is bs because what's the point when most will never be seen again why not buy a package with the cd if you love more great come back and buy them in the future..

I will not use them again!! I went to a location in Columbia, South Carolina. Ruth was very polite but very misleading. I kept telling her I wanted a packet no more than $100 she kept quoting prices over that amount. Finally I got tired of the rig-a-marrow so broke down and ordered a packet that was $179. The pictures were a secret from my husband. Looked at them/invoice 2 days later and noticed I was charged $200 for the packet alone plus overages shipping and handling. Items she said were free WE'RE NOT!! it's pretty frustrating because I understand you have to sell but I'm telling you my budget and you still raped me with crazy fees and gave me incorrect info.

how does that happen without your knowledge? you sign a credit card receipt that shows the amount.

the handling fees and tax do raise that price up, but it's not the associate's fault. I don't know of any retailer that advertises tax and shipping and/or handling fees. those are added on, but ultimately you see the bill before you pay, so you should have paid more attention to the receipt you viewed before you walked up to the front desk to pay. if for some reason you missed that receipt, you should have looked at what the credit card receipt you signed said.

if you weren't happy with that, you should have gone back and adjusted the order. btw there's also an easy way to get your price down to your budget. just say NO, THAT'S NOT IN MY BUDGET over and over again until you get there. the associate of course has to explain each package, but if you can't afford it, don't get it.

it's pretty simple actually. sounds like you should be more upset with yourself for not looking at the credit card receipt you signed instead of placing blame on other people that are doing their jobs.

Well ANONYMOUS!! Not that I need to go into details but I wasn't told certain details of my bill so I assumed the high cost were for taxes.

Also, honey u didn't use a credit card nor did I have any paperwork to sign. My son needed pictures and I don't have the patience to continue to argue with anyone! So, I take part of the blame but there was information that was not discussed. So thank you for your unnecessary comments!

I wrote to voice my concern and get in touch with their corporate office so unless you work for them i could careless about your 2 cents!! Now what you can do if you insist on commenting is to comment the corporate number because I've witness other customers today with the the same issue and we need to talk or be heard by someone other than anonymous! So, I should be mad at myself how should the other customers I listened to feel the same.

Once is a mistake numerous accounts aren't. So again if you feel so tickled to comment, comment corporate's number otherwise blow yourself!

you'll probably get a gift certificate out of it too. when you return to use the gift certificate, maybe you'll pay more attention before you hand your money over.

I just don't understand how you or numerous people could pay for something without knowing what you paid until two days later when you looked at the receipt. I used to work there and know that you have to view the receipt at the viewing/sales station. if you had any questions or concerns about how it went from $179 to over $200, that would have been the time to ask.

i always made sure to explain the fees when i worked there, so most of my customers understood how the price went up, but there were still some that were confused. but they stopped right there, went back to the photos and edited what they were purchasing.

the associates have to print the receipt out at the front desk, so if you didn't look at it on the screen, you even had a second chance to see it if you didn't think the numbers added up. the receipt is detailed with collection cost, tax, handling fees, and shipping fees if applicable.

if u didn't use a credit card and didn't have a receipt to sign, you gave cash then. either way, you completed the action of paying.

however, since you obviously weren't paying attention to the money you paid and are unhappy with it, the company does have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. even though you agreed to pay (through the act of actually handing money over) this means you can return as many of the photos as you would like and get a credit voucher for what you have returned (however i don't believe they will give credit for shipping or handling fees since technically the company doesn't charge those fees because they use third party vendors that ship the products and charge those fees). you can use the credit voucher towards a future purchase or mail it in to the corporate office to get a check issued to you.

tricky part with that is it can take up to 6 weeks to get back.

so hopefully you found this information relevant and consider it a lesson learned in your life. know what you are paying for and if you need to stick to a budget, just say no in a sales situation.

Purchased CD - Later Found That I Didn't Have Rights To Use It

Spent $120+ on photos of our 2 yr old grandson. Made it known from the beginning that we wanted to get a CD as part of the package so that we had control to make prints at a future date. The CD is only part of more expensive packages so, we reluctantly spent the money. Two months later, took the CD to Walmart in order to make some prints. They wouldn't make the prints without written consent from Portrait Innovations. I called Portrait Innovations who informed me that although I bought the CD, that didn't give me rights to print pictures. Say WTF? Are you kidding me? Yeah, apparently you have to pay even more money if you want them to give you the written permission required to print copyrighted pictures. They apologized for not explaining this thoroughly. How could you miss it? They spent a lot of time pushing for all kinds of other things. Like I said, we stated several times right from the beginning why we wanted a CD. Pissed beyond belief. Incredibly dishonest and misleading.

Very inexperienced photographer!! Had an appointment yesterday for my family(2adults 6children). Was very satisfied with their photos from previous appts. This time around, i felt rushed. The photographer did not do his job. My pictures looked so unprofessional. We had asked if we could retake our family portrait & he said no. We also asked if he could add special effects to our photo because I didn't want everybody's sneakers in the photo. He completely ignored us & just skipped through to the final process of checking out. He did not pose any of us to make it look like a professional picture. For all that i could of done a better job at home with my own camera. Very disappointed with the service we recieved. I'll be sure next time (if there is a next time) to ask for a different photographer.

I was at the Orland location this evening for about an he and a half and paid for all my pictures and by the time I got home my daughters name was spelled wrong on the fretting cards. There were 20 of them so all 20 were spelled wrong! I would like them all re done as in reprinted fee of charge just those 20. The main reason i went to portraits innovations is because i have 2 girls and wanted a similar canvas in a present of my youngest that i already had of my oldest. It was a 20x24 and when we was ordering they told me that wasnt possible they never had that size, even though it was only a year yearly. She said that a 16x20 was the biggest they had so maybe i was mistaken. So we went ahead and got the 16x20 bc she was convienced she was right. Well she was wrong i got my canvas 2 days ago and nonetheless my canvas is smaller than the one before. So, im rather upset bc i wanted the same size to put up side by side and it wont look right. So i dont think i will ever be back, because i already had other problems on this order not getting all my calendars. Im rather upset.

We had coupon for holiday portraits....that's all we wanted and intended to buy. Nevertheless the photographer said we had to review all photos. The packages were EXTREMELY expensive for the quality of portraits.....we kept telling her we are not interested, and she demanded we make a selection between selected photos by the computer......I thought we would never get out of there. I believe this is the old "bait and switch" routine! We ended up using the coupon, then came back 30 minutes later to get portraits.....the portraits had a shadow across the face, which we did not see on the computer....unfortunately we did not see this until almost home (we live 30+ miles from studio)....they offered to lighten up the portrait and we would have to turn around and come get them.......NO THANKS......but that will be our last visit. What happened to JC Penny studios and Sears???????

they went bankrupt because everything was so cheap...including their CD....all the studios that are still in business charge about the same amount....so you say expensive but you do realize that it is a service in which you have to pay for the time the photographer took to take your photos, the paper as well as the chemicals to process your prints....nothing is cheap now a days so if thats what you want your not gonna get anything decent

Took my family to the kildeer location. The first thing I saw was one a employ in socks not shoes. That's poor management by that manger then were sitting their over a hour to get too our apartment witch is bad management. And not using time management correctly,then try to rush my family to get tho the session is just plain rude to your customers, were the ones in the end paying for out pictures!!!! with out people coming in you have no job people. Just annoyed, to see employees running around with no shoes on, and try to push my family out our pictures. Sorry these people don't know how to use their time correctly.that falls on the manager. my family will never com back K-mark could have done the same work for 30$bucks

The reason they wear no shoes is so they don't trip over the backdrops. I'm saying this as someone who worked for the company for 4 years as an associate all the way to a manger.

Horrible!

I have been going here for over 4 years at least twice a year. I always go at Christmas time and Easter. I know by now to make an appointment early in the morning and on a weekday. I have 3 children, a five year old and 18 month old twins. This was by far the worst experience. First, I received 3 calls to confirm my appointment time and was told not to arrive early or late, get there at exactly appt time. So I did that, I arrived exactly at 9:20. They check me in and said we will get started. As soon as the photographer turned to get her camera another family came in was taken into the room. Oh and they were over 30 mins late! What! Why do I have to wait when I am on time? So I waited for about a half an hour, and they start. By this time my twins were so upset they had a hard time posing for the pictures. She took only 3 Christmas shots! And said ok we are done. I asked her why and she said she got a great picture don't need to get anymore. Again, WHAT!?! I told her no, I was guaranteed 60-100 shots. With an eye roll we waited for the next room (the late family were getting picky about how the background clashed with the clothes ) another 30 min wait. She didn't get any good shots (yes I know the Twins weren't easy to work with) but never had this happen, most of the other photographers are great with them and get great pictures. These were horrible pictures and can't believe I wasted my time.

We made our appointment at the Cool Springs location 3 weeks in advance, and when we arrived we were told it would be a 10 minute wait. After I asked more questions we were told it would be about an hour as they had double booked a lot of appointments. When I asked for the manager Alex, I was told she was not available. I inquired as to why they did not call to warn of the wait time and the rep stated they didn't have time to call 70 customers and if they had called we probably would have cancelled the appointment. They were only using 1 of their 2 studios and I couldn't understand that, if they were so over booked. All we received was a lot of excuses. I would not recommend this studio to anyone not even for pet photos. The staff was very unprofessional and not courteous at all. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. I guess the saying is true you get what you pay for luckily this time I caught it before it cost me money.

You complain about an hour wait if they had to stop to call everyone anytime the wait cha GED they would be 3 or 4 hours behind.
