The Fredericksburg va location over charged me and then told me they cant refund my money. Gave me a letter to mail off and get a refund. I did the letter was mailed back saying wrong address. Called the location and they told me the address was correct. Still without my money owed.

The company closed down completely, there aren't any open anywhere in the country. Good riddance.

It was a nuisance working for them. Many a headache, mental breakdown, & anxiety attack was bad while working there.

We had decided to have our baby’s first birthday photos taken. I was accustom to going to sears paying 100 bucks and walking out with enough prints to pass to all members of my family plus extended and most of my friends and acquaintances plus a cd with all photos that were taken that day. I did a search for portrait studios and I got penny’s which I’ve used, and I came across portrait innovations. A new place I had never heard of or been to before. Before I get into my story let me just say I have been in this photo game for a while. My oldest child is 21 years old of the 3 children I have. I’ve gotten some years on photo studios. We ended up relocating a couple years ago hence my google search for a portrait studio. I go on the website to portrait innovations and see a special for one pose for $29.99 plus a free canvas that you pay shipping for and a cd of your images. Awesome the package offered enough to pass to family and friends and we had allotted extra for other photos we may have wanted to purchase while there. We had planned for around 100 bucks maybe 125 bucks at the most. That should have been enough to get the package offered in the special and then some. I had done some research on the company and the studio before going. I had read mixed reviews from both customers who had used this company for years to customers who used them once. The particular studio I used was the Knoxville studio. I was skeptical about going for many reasons. I thought it was odd there was not a single price sheet anywhere on their website nor was there to be found anywhere online. I had read they were pricy but pricy to me and pricy to another is a different meaning. With my skepticism I still went and did this shoot. Now I do have to say the the person taking the photos was awesome she handled my wandering no attention span year old baby for an hour and by the end you could tell she was just done we had her just take a couple family shots and be done. She managed to get some really good shots of my daughter. Now that was one of the things I read, they are really good with children. We go to sit down and go through the photos taken. Ok, I’ve been at this photo thing for 20 years I should know what to expect at this stage right? So we tell the next staff person we want to use the special with the canvas for $29.99 and we also want to get some extra prints we want to spend right around 100 bucks. I have never been so shocked at the lack of customer service skills these people had. Now this is what I do for a living. I work I customer service. I have worked in this field in all it’s aspects and I am very good at what I do and love what I do. Now retail isn’t my thing anymore but still I expect people to give me the same type of service as I would for them if they called me and wanted their questions answered about their account. I forget sometimes people just go to a job for a paycheck. Now this staff member gets all of the photos loaded into the system and she gets the first 3 of a 100 something photos pulled up. We say we don’t really care for any of the three and she says you have to choose one. Ok why do we have to choose a photo when we don’t like what we are looking at? Oh the system makes you choose. Fine whatever so we get through all of them and by now we have been sitting there for almost an hour. She says we are going to go through them again. At this point my husband is aggravated our daughter is going adhd all over the place. Whatever let’s get this over with so she proceeds on next thing she says on this is our first package with this and that and you get this and a cd with the rights to all of your photos. Rights? That’s a first I have never heard my photos referred to as I get rights to them. Whatever I’m aggravated first package is a legit $1000.00 package. We reiterated about the special and amount we wanted to spend. Excuse my language but this *** tells us the special is useless and it’s just an internet special the studio ones are much better and they are 20% off and you get a cd with all of your photos taken today in it. If you use the special it’s an extra $30.00 a sheet for prints and prints are $9.99 a sheet with our packages. We had really wanted that canvas for our family photo tell this *** this and at this point refuses to honor the special. I later read the finer print that they reserve the right to dishonor any coupon special. Well I guess they do this quite often because after my time there I read so much more about this place and other people having experiences the same as we had. We decided to up our spending limit to accommodate the $9.99 a sheet extra for prints outside of the package deal. The package deal without the canvas that I had went there for she came to $800.00 or something crazy in that area of money. We told miss robot who sounded like she was forced to memorize scripting she didn’t have to go through all of these expensive packages we will spend this much just skip to the packages in our price range. She says the company has microphones around the facility and she is forced to go through them all and explain them or she can lose her job and gives this whole sob story. If there are mics around this building then you certainly wouldn’t be handing us this sob story or maybe you’re trained to do so since she sounded like she was reading a sheet of paper. Whatever. We sit there and listen to her *** why because we don’t want to make people lose their job. Now working in the world of customer service unless you legally have to read something to a customer and a customer says you don’t have to go through all of this you don’t do it. You don’t waste time you get to the point of what the customer wants and call it a day. She wasn’t legally bound and was told to skip if there were mics and the company listens in then they would hear us say skip the *** and get to my price range. 2 hours later she’s at our price range. She had gotten to a $400.00 package and she says rights again. By now you’ve wasted 2 hours of my time and I’m getting aggravated. I just keep on. We choose our package choose extra prints and get the what was suppose to be a high resolution 8x10 and 2 8x10 collage and we wanted 2 extra prints. Now extra prints are $9.99 this is what we were told. This *** says ok that will add an extra $60.00 to your final cost. Wait what the *** are you talking about? No $20.00 you said $9.99 a print extra. Well these are your extra prints that are $9.99. Wait what!? You lose this and the rights since you chose this package. What the *** are you talking about? I’m about to lose it on this *** by now. So I ask what are these rights you kee talking about to my photos? This is where I learned they have copyrights to all of your *** unless you pay upwards of $400.00 to 450.00 for a package. Excuse the *** out of me. Like I said at this point we just wanted to get the *** out. I’m over the budget we set $200.00 over and spent $60 plus tax on 2 extra photos because apparently we lost that special pricing with the package we chose. Then comes the marketing consent. We said no you can’t use our daughters photos. Never in my life have I ever been told I can’t have the pictures printed elsewhere I would have to go back to them and pay $30 a sheet or order a new package and pay the remaining balance of what that package would cost. Are you *** kidding me? And says but if you allow us to use your daughters photos for marketing I can give you the rights to all of the photos taken today on your cd. Are you bribing us now? First you dishonor the special we came there for we are walking out without the cAnvas we wanted and less photos for a ridiculous prices. You’ve wasted my time you’ve lied to me and now you’re bribing me? No you cannot use her photos for anything. We figured once we got home we would get the photos separated and take out what we wanted and the rest was family. Like I said enough for 2 family members. Recently it’s come to our attention that some friends and family we sent the cd pictures to who live in other states cannot print the ones they want because either they don’t have a printer and can’t afford the insane price of $30 a sheet or they don’t own a computer or laptop and here’s the best one they live in California and don’t have a studio to go to. So email customer service explain my experience and tell them about being bribed. And they make no reference I’m told if i spend another $180.00 for a package I can have my rights. They cannot just give me the rights. *** So I ask numerous times why do they keep your pictures and for what purpose? It goes ignored. Mind you this is over the course of 48 hours of going back and forth. And that offer of spending another ridiculous amount of money and 3 free prints at no charge I can have the rights to all of my 100 something photos. So finally I had enough of being ignored and getting robotic generic answers of It’s policy I send one simple email asking why they keep the rights and for what purpose and have not received a response. Never again will I use this company or their studios. They have the poorest customer service skills, and do nothing but lie and deceive people. Ignore you when you ask questions about their policy. It’s their policy and can’t answer questions about it? They have some *** up people running this company. My next step is speaking to management since whoever answered my emails was not anyone who had any sort of authority. They process online orders. It’s pretty sad they don’t have real customer service staff. Anyone can answer an email. It’s the saddest excuse for a company. I don’t even want to give 1 star and I feel bad for the photographer she was actually very good.

I went there the picture person was 2 hours late they said they do not know when someone will be there. I called corporate put in my report. Someone came to the house left a card. Never heard anything back still gave my name number etc. . Me and other families was there at Walmart on hoke road. Still have not gotten pictures or anything took. No refund nothing!! I am very very unsatisfied..

Also after emailing customer service and being asked if we would like to come back. I stated no the children would not like to come back and they are offering 10% refund.

I get an email from the Customer service rep that was intended to a manager at a store regarding someone's employment and not having proper documentation.

When I responded I was told "oh my goodness" that was meant for another person that is a manager. Luckily the only personal information was the employees name.

I took my son, his girlfriend, and their son for portraits. It was the baby's 3 month pictures and their first family portraits. I received a call for confirmation on Thursday prior to our appointment for November 10th. I spoke to the person and asked a few questions. One of the questions being that with the package do we get the disc with all the poses. She stated not with the special but we could purchase the cd separately. I reconfirmed that I could purchase the package and the cd only of all the poses. She stated yes. We arrived for our appointment on Sunday and was super excited. Baby was smiling and in a great mood and mom and dad were ready. The photographer, who didn't introduce herself asked if baby can be on his belly. We said he can but he doesn't like it. She takes baby and tries to put him on his belly. That did it. She also didn't ask what we had in mind for pictures. The rest of the time went kind of down hill. We got baby calmed down and continued with the shoot. There were only 2 poses of baby by himself and the rest were of mom and dad and baby occasionally. On one of the photos I asked it to be redone because the way the collar of baby was up over his ear and it looked weird. That request was ignored. Baby was fussy again so they told us to take a break and see if he needed changed or fed. So I was asked what the baby's name was while mom and dad tended to the baby. The remaining photo shoot was completed again mainly of mom and dad with baby occasionally. The photographer then said she was finished. I asked about taking the photo with the blocks with baby's name. She said oh yes I forgot. By this time baby had spit up and clothes were wet. The photographer did not off the kids a chance to change his outfit and proceeded to place him in a basket bassinet and put the blocks in it. During the time I asked if he could be moved down a little because he was too high and was looking up for most of the time. Again I was ignored and she continued with taking pictures. We then finished and started looking at the different poses. There was one of the samples of the different types of backgrounds she spent about 5 minutes on trying to get the picture to fit without cutting off a face. I finally told her that we would not be purchasing those that we just wanted to package and then was going to purchase the disc and how much was the disc. At this point I was told the disc can not be purchased separately. When I was I said I specifically asked and was told that I could I was told that they have no way of allowing me to purchase just the disc as I was told. So I was then told by the manager that I would be able to get the disc if I purchased a package that would be around $250.00. So I said fine lets proceed. Well then we get through picking what they wanted and the total was over $500. I said what about the $250 that the manager said. The photographer then proceeded to tell me that the lowest I could go would be 15 poses and still get the disc. So I said lets go to the 15 poses. At this point my son and his girlfriend and myself were getting frustrated. Then we had to go through and pick out cards. They picked out the cards and when she asked the message my son gave her what he wanted the cards to say. She entered "Merry Christmas" on the first Line and then "From The Blessing" on the second line and on the 3rd line "Family". When reviewing you could tell it didn't look nice and she was ready to move forward. I stopped her and said that it needed to be fixed. She did fix that. We then went back to the picture collages and she started messing with the one she had spend 5 minutes before to attempt to get the picture in without chopping faces. She messed with it for another 5 minutes and finally I said lets change pictures and picked a different one. She then said oh that worked. As she was going through the pictures there were several that I had to request to have adjusted as the heads were being chopped off. Our appointment was at 1130 and we did not leave until almost 3 pm. This was truly the worst experience I have had and I will not be returning and I have been here previously with my niece and the experience then was great. I was told one thing over the phone and then in order to get what I wanted I had to spend $435. The photos were not 100% to our satisfaction. There were a few good ones but not enough poses of just the baby, and many pictures had to be adjusted. I felt that I had to constantly ask to have something fixed on the photos in order to get them appropriate. We would have walked out and left but this was their first family portrait and the baby's 3 month pictures. Not only is there heads and faces cut off but bad angles and other items. They only want to give me 10% back. What a joke.

Resolved: Do not use them without getting something in writing allowing a refund if the don't deliver what they tell you.

This issue had not been been resolved and my refund has not been dispersed to me. I'm extremely angry.

On November 13, my nephew, his son, and his girlfriend went to Portrait Innovations to have their baby's first Christmas photos professionally made. He was 3 months old at the time. The gentleman who took care of us was extremely nice and assured us we'd have the pictures before Thanksgiving. We were elated! So, I paid almost $700 for the photos, CD, and canvases and we left. After all, this was my first great nephew! I spared no expense. Well, Thanksgiving came and went but there were no pictures or canvases. We didn't stress too much because we didn't need them until Christmas. We were, however, disappointed the company didn't deliver as promised. Although they didn't need the photos until Christmas, JJ's parents called Portrait Innovations to check the status anyway. Portrait Innovations apologized for the delay but, again, assured them the pictures, CD, and canvases would be delivered in plenty of time to mail the applicable photos to the family. We were nervous and skeptical but trusted them to abide by their word and deliver as promised. Three weeks before Christmas JJ's parents called a 3rd time and spoke to a young lady who asked when they picked up the pictures. My nephew was extremely upset and told her they had not picked up the photos or canvases, or the CD They wanted to get everything at the same time. My nephew reiterated the whole story to let the associate know this was becoming a concern and why. The young lady said she'd look into it and call him back by the end of the day, which did not happen. They called daily and was given the run around and every story was different so I called. I explained the situation to a young lady again, and explained what the pictures were for. I also told her I paid almost $700 for these pictures and expected them to be delivered as promised. I told her if Portrait Innovations had told us originally the pictures would not arrive before Christmas, we would have gone elsewhere. This was JJ's first Christmas! The young lady told me to email customer service to find out what happened to them, as they were not in the store. I told her I would not email anyone and demanded that she find my pictures. I didn't pay $700 to track down photos. They made a promise and I wanted them to fulfill that promise. And... I also explained I would be requesting a full refund if the pictures, canvases, and CD's did not arrive by the next week. She told me the company would not give me my money back, as they could not do anything with them. That is not my concern! The baby's parents continued to call daily but to no avail. A few days later, I called again and spoke to the nice gentleman who originally handled the transaction. Again, he was very nice but said I had to email customer service. He also said they do not have a phone number. (Are you serious???). He said the company does not allow them to email on behalf of the customer (and he gave me a reason but I had stopped listening). Well, we finally realized we probably were not going to get the photos by Christmas so we tried calling other places but to no avail. No one could get the photos to us by Christmas, which we assumed would happen. This was so disappointing. JJ's parents were using the photos as Christmas gifts for the family and now they had nothing. They had not purchased anything else. Well, it's now Christmas day and I still have not heard from them. What a sham!!!! And they don't think I will get my money back???? Watch the Lord work on my behalf.
